COURSE DESCRIPTIONS:
GZA – TARGET ARCHERY 101
Cost: $80 – 4 weeks
Ages: 6+ yrs old
Class Min # of Students: 4
Class Max # of Students: Niles – 20 St. Joe – 30
Class Pre-requisites: None
Materials mandatory for Class: None
This course is open to all skill levels for target archery instruction.
Archers and will learn about range safety, an archer’s stance, shooting techniques, along with the general care of archery equipment and be introduced to the USA NTS shot cycle.
Each student will be instructed in:
● Stretches for warming up specifically for archery.
● Determining eye dominance.
● Archery safety and range rules.
● Equipment used in archery.
● Terminology used in archery.
● How to and the importance of an archer’s stance, grip, draw and release.
● How to nock, draw, aim and shoot an arrow.
● Will be instructed on scoring and retrieving arrows.
● The history of archery.
● Be exposed to basic rules of competition and the etiquette of archery.
● How to stringing and unstringing a bow.
● Ways to continue Archery for its recreational, health, fitness and social benefits.

GZA – TARGET ARCHERY 201
Cost: $80 weeks
Ages: 10+ yrs old
Class Min # of Students: 4
Class Max # of Students: Niles – 10 St. Joe – 20
Class Pre-requisites: Archery 101
Materials mandatory for Class: None, but having/using personal equipment is highly suggested.
Archers and will learn about advanced information on our USA National Training System, an archer’s stance, shooting techniques, along with the general care of archery equipment.
Each student will be instructed in:
● Advanced stretches and exercises for archery performance.
● Advanced terminology used in archery.
● Advanced archer’s stance, grip, draw and release training. (11 steps of NTS)
● Students will practice scoring arrows.
● The history of archery and different styles and disciplines of archery.
● Practice rules of competition and archery etiquette.
● Students will string and unstringing bows.
